Ready Year?

I got a phone call from my mum; “Kukua you have to come to church with us on the 31st. All pastors are giving an exhortation and you’re on the program”. For a second I forgot I was (oh I am) a pastor. Honest truth is, every time I have to take up the responsibility that comes with the calling I cringe a little bit. All of a sudden I began to think of all the lies I could cook up so that I could avoid mounting that stage to speak to all those adults about whatever it is that I didn’t want to but had to.

About a year ago I stopped blogging. Intentionally but unintentionally. Sincere truth is, I don’t like being in the limelight. I’m not the one to be everywhere. I love my very private life. When I started blogging, I had a small family I felt comfortable with. Writing to a few hundreds felt safe. In fact, when I secretly posted the blog about my wedding ‘A STREET CALLED GRACE AND GLORY‘ I was telling my story to my regular 200 people-audience and not the 20,000 people who read.

“But God why?” “Why do you keep pushing me out there?”
-‘You were made for this’. Let me stop here and speak to you.

1 Timothy 4:11-14 (MSG)
Get the word out. Teach all these things. And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use.

If you don’t live for your purpose what else will you live for?”

Im convinced lots of people have been trapped in the “I’m not ready- Not so sure- Maybe it’s not for me- What if” excuse from living. I’m not saying try to be famous. I’m saying try to be empty. People trying to be empty look for vessels to pour into. Approach life with intentionality. Whatever God asks you to do, DO IT. Plain truth is God is not so much interested in using you as He is in getting the work done. That’s why He can use anyone. If you don’t start that business, someone else will.

Your purpose whether in business, entertainment, government, media, education or family is why you exist. God expects that we embrace it whole heartedly knowing that our very lives and existence depended on it. What if you would be nothing ‘useful’ to society if you didn’t go into media?

Pour, pour and pour until you’re empty. That’s when you can ask the Lord to fill you up again. Why? So that you can go pour out some more.

My husband asked; ‘Babe do you have any resolutions this year?’ I said yes. And it’s just one. This year I’m committed to doing and being; To doing everything I set my mind to do and to being everything I can be in 2017 according to Gods will for my life.

The only people who never got anywhere are those who never started anything. There’s a time for secret preparation and a time for public revealing but whatever season you are in- GO HARD AT IT.
