Praying For A Blessing?

‘This isn’t what I expected.’ For a moment I wasn’t sure if I asked God for the wrong thing or I was being plain ungrateful. ‘This man can be ‘someway’ sometimes. Why does he want things his way all the time? Can he not tell human beings aren’t machines and so you can’t control their actions or thoughts?’

I don’t sound pretty right? And oh that’s my boss up there. Meanwhile I do not want to think I’m the only person in a situation like this; We need the blessing, pray for the blessing, then complain about everything that comes with it but what we do not realise is that when God opens a door it requires a lot of character and discipline to stay in. Honest truth is some of us have and are creating a mess out of many things God has blessed us with.

Complaining about our lives, relationships, marriages or businesses, surely is a sign of ingratitude. Remember how desperate you were for the blessing? Listen, whatever God gives you will be tested and that’s because the enemy assigns demons to kill and destroy what God gives.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)

He is constantly scheming and plotting against everything you’ve got. He literally wants you to lose everything including your life. So, Instead of giving him room with your complaints and confusion channel that effort into building yourself up to stay in the position God put you. Todd White says ‘be so filled with Jesus, when people squeeze you with persecution, they get nothing out but a lot of Jesus. And that’s because you’re so filled with Christ’. So if your husband or your children or your client or boss looks like the problem, maybe you should stop complaining about everything they seem to be doing wrong and focus on everything you can do to make it right. There’s more to it than meets the eye. Don’t channel your efforts into a physical response. You’re wrongly prepared. (Ephesians 6:12) This is what we take to battle; The full armour of God.

Be devoted to developing your spirit, body and soul. Having the right attitude to stay disciplined and tolerant. There’s a character and discipline required to stay in every door that God opens. No one won a victory without a battle so whiles you’re asking God for a blessing, you might want to ask Him to prepare you for the stretching that comes with it so that you’d be mature and well-developed not deficient in any way.
